"Peppermint Place" was a local kids show that was filmed & aired in Dallas from 1975--1996 (and was syndicated to various markets in TX, and elsewhere).. It featured puppets, songs, interviews with local family acts, and obligatory educational bits. Mostly campy, tacky, but unforgettable for people who grew up in Dallas in the 80's (for better or worse).. In this clip, we see a super talented puppet named "Judy" singing a heartwarming ballad, devoted to rainy days.... Of course, as per usual on "Peppermint Place," the guy working the puppet seemingly has never heard the song, doesn't know the lyrics or the rhythm of the syllables, so just moves the mouth randomly, no matter what "Judy" is supposedly singing.... BOTCH ALERT: And since these were all done in one take, with no thought of "RETAKING MISTAKES," in this clip, a strand of Judy's hair lands in her mouth around the 2:00 mark. So the puppeteer shakes the head of the puppet violently at the 2:06 mark, making it appear Judy is having an aneurysm, breaking the mood of this tender ballad for no reason whatsoever...
