Denpasar Moon is a music album by Sabah Habas Mustapha (aka Colin Bass). The album was first released in 1994, and released again with the bonus track in 2004. The music on the album is pop, more specifically dangdut, a genre in Indonesian pop music. The lyrics, all in English, are in the style of degung, a Western Java style of music. Collin Bass heard and became interested in these music styles when he visited Bali in 1987. Three years later, he met the record label owner Astakona Hartono in Jakarta, and was given the opportunity to record in his recording studio. This resulted in two songs, Denpasar Moon and Bali Girl, which, however, were not released at that time. In 1992, Colin Bass contacted the Japanese record company Wave Records, which had published Indonesian music in Japan. He got a contract with them to record an album in Jakarta. At the same time as Colin Bass recorded the album in Jakarta, Sony Records, which owned Wave Records, made a recording of the song Denpasar Moon with the young Filipino singer, Maribeth Pascua. This version was a huge hit. Altogether, the song is recorded in over 50 versions in several languages ​​and dialects.
