After 27 years as a flight attendant for Qantas Airways, flying internationally, Paul retired but then did seasonal work at Cruise Ports in Sydney Harbour. A veteran cruiser along with his husband of 32 years, Chris, Paul related to David their dramatic story of being aboard "Coral Princess" as COVID swept over the world including several deaths aboard ship. Stranded at sea for 24 days with all ports refusing them entry, the couple and their fellow passengers were aboard one of the last passenger ships at sea to safely make port. A special program note: throughout the entire experience, Paul pays high praise to the staff and crew of Princess Cruises for their professionalism and patience, and gives a salute to United Airlines, whose all-volunteer crew helped repatriate several hundred Australians on a special flight from San Francisco to Melbourne.
