During my trip there in December of 2021, I linked up with my new friend and TikTok superstar Luca Gallone to show him what Indian cuisine is all about. Join me as I eat Indian veg food with Luca Gallone in Dubai, UAE! Luca is a master magician from the UK who has performed on Britain’s Got Talent, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and even did magic for Prince Charles’ 70th birthday party! He’s one of the most famous magicians in the world, with over 10 million followers on TikTok alone! 👕 DAVID’S BEEN HERE MERCH: https://teespring.com/stores/davids-been-here To teach Luca all about Indian food, we headed to Veg World, a restaurant in Meena Bazar that has 350 Indian veg dishes on its menu! Back in the kitchen, we watched them make a jini dosa loaded with masala, vegetables, cheese, cilantro, and more! Next, they made a ghee roast dosa, which is a plain dosa that’s coated in ghee. It looks like a cone-shaped hat! Then, they fried up a bhature, a grilled sandwich, and more. The presentation on all the dishes was amazing! At our table, we had the ghee roast dosa, the jini dosa, dhokla, idli, vada, chole bhature, aloo paratha, ganthiya, ganthiya, the Titanic sandwich, and some chilies. We started with the chole bhature, which is a big, puffy flatbread served with a chickpea curry. It’s really tasty! Then, Luca performed a magic trick that blew my mind! After that, we jumped on the jini dosa, which was rich and super cheesy. There are so many flavors, from the tomato to the onion to the cheese. It’s also a little hot! Eating it with the coconut chutney added a light, tropical flavor, and the sambar was like a nice veg soup! Then, we tried a chili, which was more sweet than spice. Next, they brought us vada pav, which had mint and tamarind chutney on it, as well as more cheese. It was like a soft, flavorful veggie burger. It’s some of the best food Luca has had in Dubai! Our next dish was the idli, which was savory with a bit of sweetness from the coconut chutney. Then, I blew Luca’s mind by telling him that chicken tikka masala is the national dish of Great Britain and that it was invented in Glasgow! Next was the vada, which was savory and crispy. I loved the way it absorbed the flavor of the sambar. Then, we tried the ghee roast dosa. It was very crispy, with some parts that were doughier and absorbed the sambar better. Then, we tried the dhokla, which was topped with mustard seeds and cilantro. It was a little sweet but was amazing with the tangy tamarind chutney. The aloo paratha came with fermented chilies and dahi, which added a creaminess and sourness. We didn’t love the yogurt. The jalebi was extremely sugary and crunchy, with lots of sugar syrup. We followed that with fafda, a long, crispy wafter-like snack from Gujarat. The mint-cilantro chutney was a little spicy, and it was soft on the inside. The Titanic sandwich was boat-shaped, and was both fresh and cheesy inside. I loved the overload of cheese. It was like a panini! Then, I helped Luca perform a magic trick using three blocks, before he performed a couple of incredible card trick for me and the staff. I don’t know how he did them, but they were amazing!
