Studio 31 Media Archive's video: WLUC The Ryan Report Full 1 30 2022

Full episode of the weekly public affairs program that airs on Marquette, Michigan's dominant television station, WLUC-TV6, a Gray-owned NBC affiliate serving the Upper Peninsula. Recorded on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 7:30am ET. The Ryan Report has been on WLUC off and on for the past few years, but on consistently since 2015. Don Ryan is the host and is a semi-retired broadcaster who was originally with TV6 from 1965-1974. Ryan later left the station for radio and a variety of other jobs in and out of media including politics, before returning full circle to the station where it all started in 2003 for the first run of "The Ryan Report", before it was killed off by new ownership in 2008. Current owners Gray brought it back in 2015. This is a pretty standard community affairs program that sometimes struggles to find guests in this very small market (a recent episode had the station's morning news team discussing their favorite Christmas memories) but they do try and Ryan is knowledgable about the region. The guest for this particular episode was Nick Blagec, President of the Kiwanis Ski Club, to discuss the multimillion-dollar investment into Pine Mountain where the 2022 FIS Continental Cup will be held this year. Graphics are a rare custom job from Gray's hub (the animations are a dead giveaway that they designed it) and music is a version of In-Sink V.5 from Warner-Chappell Production Music.
