Now that 2009 is upon us each of us may be reflecting and asking for Gods guidance in our daily life especially with those important decisions. We know that from past experiences that God has been a good God, guiding us all the way! At some point, youre going to have to make difficult decisions. Decisions that will affect your family. Your finances. And your career. Some of you are facing tough choices right now. And youre wondering, "How should I handle this? Whats the right answer? Where do I turn for help?" You turn to the Word of God. I want to go back to Thursday Jan 15, 2009 and the Crash of Fight 1549 from LaGuardia headed to Charlotte NC but ended in the Hudson River. How did those passengers react to the situation, what decisions did they wish they could do over if they had the chance. And what about Jesus... did you know that Jesus was under severe pressure in the Garden of Gethsemane, while he struggled in prayer - releasing his burden to the Father's will: "if possible, let this cup pass... yet not my will, but Thine be done." See Matthew 26:36-44. Jesus was "grieved and distressed" in prayer and confessed verbally his feelings of grief. In Short, after you have prayed for guidance. Gathered all the facts. And asked for advice. The next thing you need to do is to make your decision and stick with it. Proverbs 16:3 says "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." Theres comes a time where you reach that point of no return just like those passengers of Flight 1549. And you just have to trust God and go for it. Amen? James 5:16 says that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." And if you give your dilemnas and your decisions to Christ, he will put peace in your heart. A plan in your mind. And the wisdom to carry it out.
