La caratteristica principale è la magnifica architettura a graticcio perfettamente conservata che ci permette di compiere un viaggio indietro nel tempo. E' situata su unaltura affacciata sul fiume Rance. La Torre dell'Orologio, risalente al 400, è visitabile e permette una visione dall'alto davvero magnifica. La Chiesa di Saint Saveur, imponente e maestosa, è dove riposano le spoglie del guerriero bretone Bertrand du Guesclin che nel 1364 salvò la città dall'assedio combattendo con Thomas di Canterbury. Altra chiesa di grande impatto è la Chiesa di Saint Malò, e una passeggiata ai Giardini Inglesi permette di affacciarsi sulla vallata sottostante. Its geographical setting is exceptional. Instead of nestling on the valley floor like Morlaix, most urban development has been on the hillside, overlooking the river Rance. The medieval town on the hilltop has many fine old buildings some as early as 13th century. The town retains a large section of the city walls, part of which can be walked around.
