A tribute to Peter Falk, who sadly has died aged 83. He was nominated twice for Oscars in the 1960's, but is best known for his portrayal of the dishelveled TV detective Columbo. My favourite such show, and I only recently watched a lot of the seventies episodes again. Columbo is all the more remarkable because the viewer always knows the identity of the killer from the start - it's all about how he solves the crime. Over the years, episodes also starred many stars of the big screen. I raise a glass to Peter Falk for giving us such great entertainment as the detective in the raincoat.
