Alongside acting, her career in Film began when she worked for one year in integrated marketing at Walt Disney Studios Canada while attending The University of Toronto. While she enjoyed Disney, she knew her talents were in the creative side of film. Over the years, he has directed campaigns for brands such as Rogers, Sick Kids Hospital, Home Depot, and many more. His short film Swimmer was screened at the New York Shorts Film Festival and the The Toronto Short Film Festival in 2023.His recent documentary Justice Denied (an episode of Black Life: Untold Stories) was screened at TIFF 2023. His first feature documentary, "Ray of Hope" which he wrote, directed, and produced alongside collaborator Nikila Cole tells the story of the Tamil Genocide in Sri Lanka and its impact on Tamil's living in the Diaspora. It was released in Cineplex Theatres where it had a two-week run. The film has won more than 7 awards globally after 9 festival screenings and received over 37 nominations in the last two months since its festival run began. Earlier in 2024, Ryan worked as a producer of Deep Blue released in Theatres in Antigua as well as on the CBC GEM's number 1 streaming episode of "The Nature of Things - Butt Seriously" as a co-director alongside Liam O'Rinn.
