edhaje's video: Sack of Delhi Nader Shah Invasion

@Sack of Delhi (Nader Shah Invasion)
Emperor Nader Shah, the Shah of Persia (1736–47) and the founder of the Afsharid dynasty of Persia, invaded Mughal Empire whose territory stretched from Kabul to Bengal, eventually attacking Delhi in March 1739. His army had easily defeated the Mughals at the battle at Karnal and would eventually capture the Mughal capital in the aftermath of the battle. The Afsharid occupation led to price increases in the city. Some Delhiites attacked and killed several Afsharid troops during the riots that broke out. Nader Shah retaliated by ordering his soldiers to carry out massacre to both muslims and hindus alike throughout the city. Mughal emperor Muhammad Shah & his retinue, notably Nizam Asaf Jah I persuaded Emperor Nadir Shah to end the massacre in exchange for Mughal treasury, along with its precious royal jewellery and peacock throne was taken by Nadir Shah. Soon Afsharid troops heading back to Persia with its abundant loot to deal with Ottomans & Russians in Iraq & Caucasus. This sack dealt the final blow to the already fractured Mughal Empire, who cannot recover for the next century.
