How I Made a Good (and Cheap) Coffee Roaster From a Thrift Store Popcorn Popper:
If you love coffee and want to try roasting your own beans THIS is a great place to start!
My experience:
I modified a popcorn popper by adding a dimmer switch to control the heat, but you could still use an unmodified popcorn popper to roast coffee. However, with the addition of a dimmer switch and adding a digital thermocouple to monitor the roasting bean temperature (a total cost about $35) this little homemade coffee roaster is a great little project.
PLEASE USE APPROPRIATE CAUTION AND COMMON SENSE IF YOU ATTEMPT TO MAKE YOUR OWN HOMEMADE COFFEE ROASTER (POSSIBILITY OF ELECTRIC SHOCK OR FIRE).
