ewpl's video: Vietnam - Sapa Hanoi Day to Night

@Vietnam - Sapa Hanoi Day to Night
Vietnam Sapa Hanoi Day to Night This is a highlight video of some of the things that we did in Vietnam while on a 5 day 4 night free and easy trip for Sapa and Hanoi. We explored Hanoi and Sapa during this impromptu trip. We did not plan much of our itinerary, we pretty much winged it. However, we did knows how many days we want to stay in Hanoi and Sapa. We first landed in Nội Bài International Airport, Hanoi, and geared ourselves up with SIM cards. Apps a Grab cab down to Old Quartet, and pretty much walked around the city. Taking in the culture and chaos of the city (they said that Ho Chin Minh is more chaotic). We did not book a hotel on our first day, as we planned for a sleeper bus to Sapa. The departure time for the bus was 10pm at night, the average sleeper bus journey from Hanoi to Sapa is around 5-6 hour - with one rest stop. We decided to take a sleeper bus to bypass the extra bus journey if we opted for a sleeper train to Lao Cai. Overall, the bus was a faster journey. We reached our destination around 5am. The bus captain let us sleep for another 1 hour on the bus. So we disembarked the bus at 6am. By then, the sun had already raised. As we are not able to check-in so early, we decided to leave our luggage at the care of our hotel and have them book us a taxi to the cable car station (Fansipan Legend). The next day, we booked a trekking tour using KLOOK. We decided to take a trekking tour for the rice field, instead of the famous Cat Cat village, as we really want to see the rice terrace and its splendour! Growing up in a city, we never have seen a rice terrace before, and the allure of it is magical! No regrets. The trekking tour consists of a 12km trek through Ma Tran and Ta Phin village. Our tour guide Zuzu was on time at our hotel to pick us up. Zuzu, she was wearing traditional Vietnam dresses with a straw hat. She is a lovely and patient guide, and we recommend her to you - she can walk quite fast though. At the start, I was expecting a car to pick us up to the trekking location; however, I realised that Zuzu did not stop walking, and there was no car in sight. It only then that I understood, the trekking had started. It starts at our hotel, all the way to the two villages. We trek through Sapa city, and into a small alley, which is the entrance to the village. On the road, you may not be able to see it. It was a tiny alley. Once we cleared the alley, we were rewarded with the spectacular view of the rice terrace. Through the walk, there are families of piglets and chicken running around freely at the village. The Sapa local are minding their crops, and some paddlers joined us half-way through the trek. They are very friendly, they will chat with you, but at the end of the journey, they will want you to buy souvenirs or two from them. It is hard to reject them if you had been chatting with them. Throughout the trek, we walk through farms, saw a party of buffalos walk pass us, piglets running around having fun, chicken minding their own business, farmers farming, and many things that are aliens to a city dweller. Atlas, it was a long journey, but the views were mesmerising. Coming from the city, the trek is the closest I had ever gotten to a farm and rice terrace. It was terrific. But it is a long walk. Recommended to prepare your own trekking boots and to bring plenty of hydration. Remember to apply sunscreen too, the weather is cooling, but the sun is not forgiving. At the end of the treks, there will be a car to pick us up and send us directly back to the village. The bus ride back to Hanoi took almost half a day away from us. Not having much time left, we spend our afternoon at our hotel taking a massage. At evening, we walk around Old Quartet, and visited the famous egg coffee shop, and also went Vietnam popular cafe Trung Nguyen Cafe to get ourself our coffee fix and beans. After which, we walk back to our hotel (right in front of beer street) and choose a pub for a final drinking session at Vietnam before flying back the next day! I will be making another video on how I get from Hanoi to Sapa and back. Check back again soon! Subscribe to me that will be the best!
