Low Traffic Neighborhoods (LTNs) in Exeter are designed to reduce vehicle traffic, enhance safety, and promote a healthier environment. These areas prioritize pedestrians and cyclists by implementing measures such as road closures, bollards, and traffic calming strategies to limit through-traffic. The goal is to create quieter, safer, and more pleasant streets for residents, encouraging walking, cycling, and community interactions. LTNs contribute to improved air quality and a better quality of life. Key features of Exeter's LTNs include: Road closures to non-residential traffic Bollards and planters to restrict vehicle access Improved cycling infrastructure Enhanced pedestrian pathways Community spaces and greenery These measures aim to foster a sense of community, reduce pollution, and make streets safer for everyone.
