Hi folks and welcome to this video. I am no tech guru, but I decided some time ago to upgrade my graphics card from rubbish to mediocre. I finally got around to doing it yesterday. Consequently, I thought it might be nice to do a very basic comparison video of performance before and after for FSX Steam, Prepar3d and X-Plane 10. With a mix of 32 and 64 bit programs allied to different usage of GPU's it was always going to be an interesting if non scientific experiment. This test is by no means comprehensive, nor is it a comprehensive valid benchmark test. What I will say is that I was surprised by one particular aspect of my results. Now the caveat is obvious. I am not a tech guru, so please don't ask me which card you should use and certainly I can't tell you what speed your set up should give. Moreover, and I mention this several times in the video, please don't compare any of the sims with any other sim. Each has different graphics, aircraft and environmental settings so you cannot directly compare frame rates between sims. What is however evident is which sims benefit and by how much assuming the only change is the graphics card.
