How short a distance can you land a fixed wing aircraft in with only a 20 knot headwind?????? A flight sim challenge for you guys to have a go at. The challenge can be flown in any sim. A while back, MrCobolman set a challenge for flying an FSX helicopter mission as fast as you can. Quite a few people, including Froogle, took up the challenge and it was great fun to fly. I decided to create another challenge, the "Speed landing challenge", which can be found on my channel along with quite a few links to viewer's videos. Many, many months later after a tiny brainwave, we now have the spot landing challenge. If you record and upload your attempts to YouTube, I'll add a link to your video into my description. The rules are simple: 1) The wind must be a maximum of 20 knots, steady at 90 degrees to the runway. 2) Any sim can be used 3) The aircraft must be fixed wing, sorry no helis :-(. 4) Reverse thrust is allowed. 5) The aircraft must land on and remain on the runway 6) The landing must be across the width of a HARD/PAVED runway surface. 7) The landing must commence from 1000' above the runway you intend to land on.
