@Skylanders Giants - Chapter 16 [FINALE] Time Attack [6:58 - Bash / Double Trouble / Ignitor]
CHAPTER 16: BRINGING ORDER TO KAOS! [6m 58s] This trial took way, WAY too long to plan out properly. Initially the boosts on the main path may have benefitted fire and water types more on the way there, but with the RIDICULOUS amount of Arkeyan Duelists here, an even more ridiculous boss fight with more of them AND those Shield Juggernauts, PLUS a very tight time limit, I've had to make Bash my main runner here. But not even that was enough. I couldn't really survive the whole thing with two Skylanders, so a third was brought in during the boss battle. I even had to set all four wheels in the Luck-O-Tron to Power, buy all 8 Charms and register all my previous Skylanders to stand as much of a chance when it came to laying down damage. I'm thankful I went through Nightmare Mode before finally getting this take down, just to get more of a feel for evasion. Otherwise, I would've settled with just beating the time trial on Medium, which isn't really ideal. Joining Bash in the final battle is Double Trouble and Ignitor. I picked Double Trouble because he can MERCILESSLY destroy the spell spawning capsule faster than any of my other figures on hand, and I also brought in Ignitor for some extra physical damage. Again he doesn't quite have as much raw power as Bash, but he does have a load of aggression with his attacks. Arc of Faith - My intention was to knock the Roboto Ball into the door as it rolled down the slope. Missed it on impact though, but I'm glad it didn't go in the pit. Arkeyan Foyer - Almost a clean sweep with the Frigid Chompies. The Shield Juggernaut didn't see what was coming; would've done better with the Snipers. The Machinery - Strangely I could do this section faster with Bash more than anyone else. I'm very happy with this run through this conveyor belt maze of death; no damage taken, and didn't miss any cues! Arkeyan Foyer 2 - Clean run over the suspended platforms. Not quite a clean run against the Arkeyan Jousters. Least they went down nice and quick. Derp with the second Roboto Ball segment at the beginning; seemed to cost me about 10 seconds. Hall of the Ancients - Not my most careful of runs, but at least the Arkeyan Duelists were taken down quickly. The Shield Juggernaut and Bombers above couldn't have been taken down better. Excellent Conveyor Belt run. Stone Cutter's Vault - Crystal Golem ANNIHILATED. In great shape for the boss for once. Kind of missed the cue on the blades though. I bought a Regeneration Power Up from Auric for the final boss sequence, as an extra line of defense. [THE FINAL BATTLE] The Chase - Bash isn't ideal in going down this area, but he seemed swift enough to get to the button without taking damage. I believe I annihilated this section using Drobot on my Nightmare Mode run though. Fist Phase 1 - MY BEST RUN WITH THIS FORM. The enemies nearby didn't even bother to attack - HOW THE HELL?! Spell Capsule - Quick switch to Double Trouble. No damage taken, and didn't even let go! Fist Phase 2 - Quick switch back to Bash. Can't say this went quite as smoothly as the first, but I was still rather resilient on getting it done. At less than 200HP when done, Bash had to be swapped out. Kaos's Head - Ignitor worked very swiftly here. Even when surrounded by a multitude of enemies, he still managed to last long enough for the spell capsule to re-emerge. Double Trouble's low speed may have had been chaotic for the final phase, but I'm glad he managed to sweep out the enemies before finally finishing it off. If I had known I was THAT close to defeating him, I wouldn't have bothered with the white magic, but what can you do? And with that, I am DONE with Skylanders Giants! Shame there aren't any unique DLC levels like Spyro's Adventure had, but it's definitely been a fulfilling experience all the way through. I got hopes that Toys For Bob will continue to up their game with future installments, just like they did here. And now I head back to more music arranging - a new track coming in a couple of days! For now, thank you ^_^
