@Ep7 Hart & Huntington/InsureMyRide 2011 SX Team - Round 5 Ipswich - FSF
**please note this video can't be played on mobile devices due to music licensing** Ipswich played host to the 5th and final round of the 2011 Super-X series on Saturday 19th November. The day was a hot and sunny affair, but our VIP pit guests stayed hydrated in our beer garden - and Buttfly kept the BBQ pumping all day. We went all out for the final round and ran a special metallic green plastics (painted by Exotic Kustoms - with graphics by Ringmaster Images). These things looked super sick going around the track and stood out like nothing, and caused a bit of a stir in the pits while we were setting up on the Friday afternoon. If you didn't see them in person on the weekend, you definitely missed out as photos do them no justice! Before the mains, the race organisers decided to entertain the crowd and selected a few riders to throw-down in a whip comp. Our lites rider Luke Urek (ex Crusty Demons of Dirt & Metal Mulisha rider) was part of the selection, and threw down some big turndowns - but lost the crowd voted comp to local boy Robbie Marshall. Pro Lites rider Luke Urek rode his most consistent of the series and qualified 2nd in his group. In the main he was sitting comfortably in 10th place for most of the traditional format 20 lap race. Unfortunately he came off the track with about 6 laps to go and finished off the round in 15th place. Pro Opens riders Chris Blose and Chris Camilleri both rode their way into the mains this week also - making it only the second time this season all 3 of our riders made it into the mains (well done fellas!). Camilleri qualified in 18th position overall, and Blose in 3rd. Qualifying 3rd put Blose into the Man vs. Man exhibition race against Billy Mackenzie. The race was full of plenty of controversy when both riders went down in a corner. Mackenzie decided it would be a good idea to start pushing and shoving with Blose after a heated exchange of words, before both riders got back on their bikes and finished the race. Their rivalry continued into the 20 lap main event, with Blose and Mackenzie battling with each other for position the whole way. They were fighting for second place for about half the race before Tye Simmonds seemed to come out of nowhere and flew past them. This made the second half of the race a battle for the podium, where Blose came out on top and took 3rd place for the second week in a row. Chris Camilleri rode really well in the mains and kept his cool under pressure, and his mistakes minimal finishing up in a respectable 17th position. However his efforts at our after party were definitely worthy of a podium! A big thanks to all the lads that helped make our inaugural season a success. Without you all chipping in every week, what we did definitely would not have been possible. Thank You! And to Chris Blose, good luck with securing a ride in the AMA Supercross series when you get back to the states! Song: Swollen Members - Grind feat.
