Here's a chap I met that sells used cars, he started chatting so I recorded him. Just in case you can't understand everything he's saying I've written it out below. An old lady came in the office with her Honda Civic in last week, she'd had it from new, with only 15 thousand miles on the clock. I told, people aren't interested in small cars these days and she nodded her head, yes. 'Anyway', I said, 'It's 5 years old, which makes it a bit undesirable, and it's a Honda, I'm not sure if I'll be able to sell it on as everybody knows they break down' She looked a little upset by this so I showed my caring side and offered her a cup of tea. 'I tell you what', I said giving her a lovely trusting smile, 'You remind me of my nan, and I'll do whatever I can to help you out here, I'll give £500, and I'll get one of the boys to give you a lift home' 'Oh', she said spilling her tea, 'but my son had a look on that internet malarkey and told me it was worth at least £3,000' 'And what does your son do for a living?' I asked. 'He's a dentist' 'Well,' I said, 'I know nothing about teeth, and no disrespect to your son, but he'll know about as much about cars as I know about fillings and whatever it is dentists actually do.' She nodded her head 'Take the £500 and I won't even charge you for the tea stain on the carpet', I said, 'that'll cost me about £100 to get professionally cleaned, but never mind eh?' She handed over the keys and paperwork, and went a away with a smile on her face, at least I think that's what it were, I couldn't really tell while she were having that stroke, but at least she got a ride in an ambulance, which I very kindly called. The next day, I put the Honda up for sale, and as luck would have it I sold it by close of business for £3,575. 'Tidy profit' you might be thinking, but there are a lot of expenses to consider; I had clean the inside of the car -- she'd only gone and left her purse on the passenger seat, had £500 in there, silly old bat.
