For the month of March the Mendip hills around Cranmore echoed to the sound of a Saint for the first time. The loco is seen here running the very busy Easter service on 31 March, its penultimate day operating on the ESR. The visit has been noted for the extraordinary noise from the Saint tackling the 1/56 bank from the Mendip Vale standing start, with several reports of the exhaust being audible from the far side of Shepton Mallet over 2 miles away! Note, lineside shots taken with PTS etc.
