This handsome tiger died a few months ago, allegedly due to an overdose of tranquilizer shot into him when he strayed into a nearby village. The present lot of tigers in this park is born in the era of camera wielding curious tourists chasing them in vehicles. However, with regards wild animals, the term "comfortable" can quickly change dimensions, and a safe, studied distance shall always be maintained. It's not everyday that you get to see a massive from only a few meters away. It requires patience and careful reading of signs of the forest to create a chance of a successful sighting. However, this may not always produce desired results, and sometimes it is luck that affords a clear sighting. India is home to the largest number of wild tigers in the world, and despite challenges related to habitat loss and man-animal conflict, tiger population in the wild has been rising steadily in India. Among the best places in India to see a wild tiger are the , the , the , the , and the .
