@MISS LUCY ANN POLK: “BACK HOME AGAIN IN INDIANA”
[PLEASE READ] Singing with her brothers (Gordon and Vernon) and sister (Elva) as “The Town Criers.” Lucy Ann was about 19 years old at the time. She later enjoyed performance success as a girl singer for swing orchestras led by Tommy Dorsey and Les Brown, respectively. Footage derived from the motion picture COWBOY BLUES (1946). During the performance, the Polk siblings appear, from left to right, in this order: Vernon, Elva, Lucy Ann, and Gordon. The 1917 song “Back Home Again in Indiana” was composed by James F. Hanley with lyrics by Ballard MacDonald. It is most famously associated with the pre-race ceremonies of the annual Indianapolis 500. IMPORTANT: This is a video sampler of goodwill and good cheer. If you are a professional and want credit I've neglected to give OR prefer that I delete this video, please let me know. Thanks.
