[PLEASE READ] Viewers of the beautiful Polish singer’s televised concert on December 31, 2012, were treated to a uniquely exotic rearrangement of the first single (“Jestem kobietą”) from her debut album DOTYK (1995). Thus reinterpreted, the swaggering original pop recording became a smoldering and seductive masterpiece in concert—less a showcase for the virtuosity of her vocal range and more an opportunity for Edyta to use her gift for sexy and stylish showmanship. The singer seemed genuinely shocked by the standing ovation she received for this performance, but the audience seemed to know she deserved it, serenading her their appreciation. I join them. Uploaded by a sincere American admirer of the singer, this video will hopefully stimulate demand for the digital release of Edyta’s excellent 2012 HBO concert in its entirety. Celebrating 25 years as a professional singer, Edyta (has) performed dazzling concerts on tour in her native Poland in 2015.
