In whch yr hmbl svt tries to make his Brother word processor into a serial terminal. More of a series where I turn (non-destructively) my new Brother WP-1 word processor, which its excellent keyboard and letterbox amber CRT, into a sleeper system based around a Raspberry Pi. As the built-in UART isn't usable, I build by own from a cheapo PSoC4 development kit and Verilog, interfacing directly to the Brother's system bus. I finally deal with the snow in the most complicated way possible (since all backed out!) and start tackling lots of simple bugs. It's actually started to look like it'll be almost usable one day!
