In this Poetry Moment, Barbara Goldberg explores the terror and beauty of life, contained in the slippery globe of a bubble. The origin of the poem was in a newspaper clipping detailing a woman who died after a plane's wing fell on her car. Bad luck left a widower a man, who at the time his wife was dying was home with their young daughter, soaping her hair, loving his ordinary life. Goldberg's poem is from her collection Cautionary Tales. A translator and poet, Goldberg's work has won many prizes, including the Felix Pollak Prize in Poetry.
