Brought To Life Pinocchio's Daring Journey opened on May 25, 1983 at Disneyland Park. Based on Disney's second animated feature Pinoccho, the attraction faithfully recreates many of the settings and scenes from the treasured film. The story comes alive with the help of 32 animated characters, 29 inventive props and countless special effects. A Dark Ride Pinocchio's Daring Journey is one of several Disney attractions known as a "dark ride." Rather than feature traditional show lighting, the show sets are painted in black light paint and illuminated in ultraviolet light. This system makes the colors far more vibrant and fanciful than they would be using traditional lighting. Other dark rides include Snow White's Scary Adventures, Peter Pan's Flight and Alice in Wonderland.
