Frisky—An adoptable dog from Herd U Needed A Home Canine Rescue, Bend, Oregon. Frisky is a purebred Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) that is about 5 months old (5/25/15). She is a very high-energy dog and will need LOTS of daily mental and physical stimulation to be happy. Frisky came to us as a little "wild child," and while she has settled some, she is still quite a handful. Like all puppies, Frisky interacts with the world with her mouth. Consequently, she has a tendency to play-bite a lot and can be a destructive chewer if not supervised. She has no manners and is not housebroke (though we are working on both!). The heeling instinct in this puppy is VERY strong and she will heel anything that moves—children, adults, dogs, cats, horses, cars, bikes, etc. What we like about Frisky is her boundless energy, her generally good nature, her small size, and her intelligence. Frisky is very food-motivated so positive-reward training her should be easier. Once trained Frisky should be an exceptionally fine example of an Australian Cattle Dog. Frisky really needs to go to a home that knows and loves heelers, has the patience to train her and put up with her willfulness and stubbornness, and can give her lots of space and a job to do. Given her strong herding instinct Frisky has the potential to become a talented and tenacious livestock herding dog. She will be happiest on a farm or ranch. Frisky is, wormed, UTD on her vaccines but is not spayed at this point. This will be required before the age of nine months. Her adoption fee is $200 (plus a REFUNDABLE $200 alter deposit).
