In this video we're up on top deck at the Treehouse Birch bar putting together a Douglas fir infused Vodka Martini using a cream whipper with Nitrous Oxide to do a flash infusion. Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) is found frequently throughout the UK and we use it for its light citrus notes and deep piney back notes. Other than using it in a drink- its great to stick a load on hot coals and cook a dirty venison steak! This is a pure infusion so make sure you use a good grain Vodka like Absolut for its smooth creamy texture- Vodka is perfect as it has a neutral flavour, Gin is also fine to use although it does have a lot of botanicals already at work. The Vodka Martini is an epic delivery system and so simple to put together. As a wise man once said "One Martini is alright, two are too many and three is not enough...". Get mixing peeps!
