Flying at night in DCS up until this point was mostly a pitch-black endeavor with dim city lights visible only when flying close enough to them. Now, the terrain textures for all of the current DCS maps have been updated to include better visibility of light sources at night. City lights are bright and visible from much further distances now, and this will also help with runway night landings. I tested the night effects using a full moon, a last quarter half moon, and a new moon illuminating the night sky. There is much more visibility when there is a full moon vs. a new moon, and night vision goggles are harder to use when there is a full moon.
