西鉄8000形は1989年に天神大牟田線用の特急車両として登場し、白地に赤のラインが入ったツートンカラーで人気を博した。しかし原色と言われたこの車両は2016年7月10日に引退し、観光列車に改造された「水都」と「旅人」を残すのみとなった。その「水都」は2017年7月22日に、「旅人」も同年9月16日に引退を迎えた。本作では8000形「水都」の走行と3000形への引継式、8000形「旅人」の車両紹介・展望映像・走行と3000形への引継式を収録。
