Video By: Raoni.com On August 26, 2019, in light of the G7 meeting in France, renowned indigenous leader Raoni Metuktire of the KayapĆ³ people delivered to French President Emmanuel Macron a joint statement from 62 Brazilian civil society organizations and international allies. The statement attributes the rapid escalation of Amazonian fires to, in large measure, the dismantling of environmental policy by the Jair Bolsonaro government.
