jacosson's video: Siphonophore Cupule attracting sperm

@Siphonophore Cupule attracting sperm
A siphonophore egg is observed at high magnification: a structure called "cupule" located above the animal pole chemo-attracts spermatozoa of the same species. Sperm cells show a circling movement in the vicinity of the cupule, just above the sperm entry point (micropyle); such process leads to increase the local density of spermatozoa and the chances of fertilization.
