Drosophilla (fruit fly) possesses very elongated (centimeter range) flagella that develop waves from head to tip. When dissected out of male gonads, sperm are entangled but are able to swim freely and forwardly in a saline medium. Movement was recorded by dark field video-microscopy at various magnifications.
