The annual LDWA 100 miles walk. This year (2022) it was organised by the Vermuyden (South Yorkshire) Section of the LDWA. It was a circular walk starting and finishing at Wombwell, Barnsley. It started at 09:00 on Friday 03/06/2022. Entrants were allowed up to 48 hours to complete the course. There were 16 checkpoints on the route supplying food, drink and often somewhere to rest for a short while. It is a non-stop walk with no break for sleeping (apart from short rests at checkpoints). My wife & I took 45 hours to complete the course. The weather was dry throughout but there was a strong, biting wind through Friday night and into Saturday.
