jonjamg's video: Alfred Strauss - Servus Wien 1932

@Alfred Strauss - Servus Wien 1932
Alfred Strauss: Appeared in the Universal Film Lexikon, Berlin for 1932. But had disappeared by 1933. There is very little known about Strauss. It may well be that he was a Jew and by 1933 had been arrested, or left the country. Either way he seems to have disappeared and there is no record of a distinguished Opera Coach working elsewhere in the world. In 1932 he is given this eloquent short biography and then in 1933 is nowhere, like so many Jews. Margot Walter, Camilla Horn, Betty Bird, Willy Fritsch. Lilian Harvey, Walter Janssen, Friedl Haerlin, Tamara Desni, Marianne Kupfer, Ossi Oswalda, Renate Müller, Erika von Thell- mann, Gustav Froehlich, Pinajeff, Carla Carlsen, Fee Malten usw. Who does not know Alfred Strauss, the great master of song, the famous teacher who has trained countless voices or opera, musical comedy and the talking film? Alfred Strauss is to-day at the height of his creative power. A very large proportion, if not most, of the well known Berlin stage and screen actors and actresses "sing his praises" each day, not only in Berlin itself, but all over the World. The following are a few of his pupils who have already definitely "arrived": Fritz Schulz, Eduard Lichtenstein, Carola Neher, Max Hansen, Cordy Milowitsch, Willy Forst, Emmy Sturm, Margot Walter, Camilla Horn, Betty Bird, Willy Fritsch, Lilian Harvey, Walter Janssen, Friedl Haerlin, Tamara Desni, Marianne Kupfer, Ossi Oswalda, Renate Müller, Erika von Thell- mann, Gustav Froehlich, Pinajeff, Carla Carlsen, Fee Malten, etc. These famous names speak for themselves in more than one sense, and tell Alfred Strauss' story completely and eloquently.
