A mild breeze? Let me play you the song of my people....... A now-extinct view of downtown Gary, IN; from arguably the city's biggest eyesore. Opened as a Holiday Inn in 1968, and already dead by 1972; it was revived in 1978 as the Sheraton, but tanked again - ceasing reservations in the early 80s while leaving the bar/restaurant open (funded by the city of Gary) until 1985. It was never occupied again, and is now (finally) in demo.
