Hey guys, this is my submission for AJ's contest. I'm doing this out of my love for playing and composing, so I wish to share my passion to you guys! On a side note, and as a contest in itself, if you singers like this instrumental or the melody lines, you could post a video response to this video with you singing actual lyrics. That would really make me smile :] ============= (copied from AJ's video) CONTEST RULES:create a piece called "Across the Sea" a poem, rap, song, dance-- be as creative as you can. define YOUR expression of sound. 1st place gets $100 to a charity of your choice/DEOS earphone covers/signed photo&CD 5 more winners will receive DEOS earphone covers as well =) good luck! Deadline is June 20th... you MUST post it as a VIDEO RESPONSE to this video! read the poem, sing the song, etc... ============= Behind the composition: This is my take on my "journey" across the sea. The sea is not always a smooth ride where everything works out the way you want it, just like in life; there are ups and downs, peaks and troughs. The journey starts out peacefully and build to the main theme (chorus) or direction in my adventure, then the current and waves all around me slowly accelerate the momentum in my journey. I gain more confidence, and I start to boldly define who I am. And as the weather changes rapidly in the bridge, the theme is countered by a completely different melody, a much faster and rhythmic sound, much like a storm. But at the end of the storm, there is peace and reassurance as my journey and my life is restored to the theme I originally set out with. I then continue to live out my journey on this sea, not knowing what's ahead but taking what I've been through to pull through what's ahead and what mysteries my life brings. ~Josh Tran ============= PLEASE READ for contact information!!!
