!!! pls read description i am aware this is a glorified fmv lol so i think the entire world at this point is aware of what’s been going down with the protests and revolts in hong kong recently - and as someone who spent most of my life growing up in the city, it’s disheartening to watch a place that i always counted on as my safe haven descending into such violence. after moving to america for college i’ve come to appreciate the safety that hong kong offers - or at least used to offer - a lot more. everyone has their own opinion on what’s going on in the city, but i think people should all slow down and take a moment to celebrate the city before we all form opinions on its destruction. though hong kong has its flaws, it has countless merits; one of which is that it’s cinematic as fuck. there’s something really special about the lights and the buildings and all the different lives coming together for just a moment, and i hope that came across on camera. this is footage from my friend's short film, and she was kind enough to share the footage with me so i could mess around with it too. i hope you enjoyed watching! the song i used is trivia: seesaw by bts (suga’s solo song whooooo) from their recent love yourself series/album and i thought it kinda fit the cityscape theme i had going. also i am absolute and utter trash for suga or anything bts related, and this song is magic. i tried to make the thumbnail look akin to hong kong’s old style films but it might just look super bootleg lol featuring: red dress: joyce li (me) blue dress: joelle dong camera: andrew lau edited by me instagram: notjoyceli twitter: notjoyceli
