Jim Dunne's video: Metallica - Orion guitar cover using backing tracks

@Metallica - Orion [ guitar cover using backing tracks ]
I made this recording back in 2014 and never bothered to do much with it until now. I didn't record video clips to go with the performance so for this video I just pulled up my old Reaper project and cleaned it up for presentation. The guitar clips that you see in the video are the original DI tracks I recorded but they're not directly used in the mix; I only show them because Reaper's spectral peaks function works better on these more pure signals without high gain distortion. I've hid the high-gain tracks that you hear from the video though they're present in the audio mix. I configured Reaper's spectral peaks to "Set range to full spectrum every octave" so each musical note will always have the same color regardless of octave. The tone is achieved by running the guitar DI tracks into my Radial JCR studio reamper box into my MESA/Boogie Mark V in IIC+ mode into my Two Notes Torpedo Live load box and recorded into my Roland EDIROL UA-1000 USB interface. In the mix, all the guitar tracks are summed to 3 master tracks with iZotope Ozone 5 EQ plugin. The plugin is in match-EQ mode and is matching the EQ against the studio version's isolated guitar tracks. There are three main summed guitar tracks: rhythm, lead, and harmony. Leads and harmonies have some delay effects applied. The guitar was tuned down 1/2 step and so the bass track and ambiance tracks were pitched down 1/2 step as well. The drum tracks remain at their original pitch since they're not melodic.
