justinfox955's video: 1 18 Bugatti Chiron by AUTOart

@1/18 Bugatti Chiron by AUTOart
I hope you all have had a great Christmas, I know I have as I have been lucky enough to get my hands on a 1/18 scale replica model of the Bugatti Chiron in French racing blue/Atlantic blue by AUTOart. The Chiron is the successor to the Veyron with heavy revisions to the body, engine and aerodynamics. The car is more evolutionary rather than revolutionary as it features a reworked version of the 8.0L quad turbo W16 used in the Veyron which sees power output increased from 1,200hp to 1,500hp. This has had a significant impact on performance as acceleration from 0-300kph now takes just 13.1 seconds and will go on to a limited top speed of 261mph. There is currently some debate around how fast the car can go if the limiter was deactivated with some sources suggesting the standard Chiron is able to achieve 290mph. However, Bugatti has not yet done a top speed run due to limitations with the tyres. In November 2019, a working prototype of a new Chiron variant clocked 305mph at Ehra-Lessien, this will be known as the Chiron Super Sport 300+. The body has been revised too, with larger dimensions to aid aerodynamic efficiency whilst increasing downforce to improve handling. Perhaps one of the most striking aesthetic features of the Chiron is the C-shaped air intake on the side of the car. This also helps to improve aero efficiency as it reduces the overall height of the roof which in turn lowers the centre of gravity. The pursuit of improved handling has led to various innovations including tiny vents hidden around the headlights to direct airflow to the brakes for improved cooling and increased downforce. As for the AUTOart model, this has to be one of the prettiest looking replicas in my collection with the most awesome paint job. As always with AUTOart replicas, the attention to detail is exquisite with the individual parts nicely replicated. Compared to my black and red AUTOart Veyron, the build quality is far superior with each of the moving parts being easy to operate and with a nice feel, except for the rear spoiler which feels a little flimsy. Although not completely necessary, I like the replica suitcases found under the bonnet in the boot compartment which is lined with velvet (again typical AUTOart). In fact the only drawback to the car really is the rear spoiler which, as I mentioned earlier, feels a little flimsy but it is still easy to operate and feels quite solid when you retract it. All in all, I would consider this a must have for any serious collector out there as it ticks all the collector's item boxes. You just have make sure you have enough money to make the purchase as it costs between £270 and £350 depending on where you look. Thanks very much for watching and have a happy new year and decade!
