This is the passenger airbag out of a 97 Nissan 240sx. I was moving and cleaning out a bunch of car parts from previous projects and needed to get rid of this. I didn't want to throw it away undeployed, nor did I want to spend time/effort/money figuring out how to properly dispose of it. Therefore, like a true idiot, I decided to blow it up myself taking all of the precautions I could think of: 1) Grab some speaker wire 2) Use some cardboard on a soft surface (grass?) 3) Aim the airbag upwards 4) Gather some spectators 5) Count down and cover your ears Note: don't try this at home. In all seriousness this is a dangerous activity and the remaining components of the airbag and ignitor are burning hot even 30 minutes after detonation.
