(disclaimer: i talk too fcking much. long (shitty) summary & description coming up, feel free to skip reading lol its here for reference, in case you're confused by what's happening in this (equally shitty) edit --- ignore all mistakes ty) ------ this is dedicated to darcie, ur my biggest inspo for this one, i fcking adore u even tho we dont talk a lot, love u lots !!! :) ---- plot: This is a story based upon a popular story of Peter Pan. However, things are a little bit different in this scenario. Baekhyun is 17 years old, yet, he still has his childlike dreams and knows all the wonders of the impossible with magic and fairy dust. He goes to kids' houses at night and takes them on an adventure to Neverland. However, there was one thing that fascinated him. Which is where he encounters Chanyeol one evening, he watches through the window as Chanyeol plays with fire. There was no light source except for the match, but he could still capture Chanyeol's appearance. Baekhyun hides away before Chanyeol could see him, for he plans to take him the next night. Chanyeol was awfully peculiar to him. Baekhyun has never taken anyone who isn't under the age of 12 with him, much less a 20 year old. He was intrigued by the fact that Chanyeol didn't seem surprised at all with his abilities, not even with Tinkerbell. It strikes his curiousity as he realizes that Chanyeol looks rather sad, different than the usual gleeful expressions he's seen on other kids. Granted, he wasn't a kid but still. It's dawned to him that Chanyeol doesn't have anyone in his life, with a routine of staying up, distracted with a flame that he might soon see himself in it on a bigger scale. This is where he teaches Chanyeol there's so much more to see in the world. Things beyond the little apartment he resides in. Baekhyun takes him to meet the lost boys, who are just as childlike as him. Chanyeol doesn't say much, but he notices the sparkle in his eyes starts to come to life once more. It was only a matter of time before Baekhyun has to take him back to reality, to his apartment. In just a small period of time, they've grown so close. In just a small period of time, Baekhyun begins to experience unfamiliar feelings in his heart. In just a small period of time... He realizes it's not enough time. It's not enough for Baekhyun. Remembering that he is selfish with his own desires. To remember, Chanyeol isn't like him. Chanyeol will eventually continue to grow up with a now different perspective, without him. He's supposed to be the boy who never grew up, who refuses to be part of a harsh world full of grown ups who don't know how to have fun. He won't remember his adventures with the people he took with him. He would eventually continue looking for a new adventure to fly to. This is what he does for an eternity. However, for the first time in his life... he wonders what life would be like with Chanyeol. He wonders what it would be like to grow up. ------ NOTES & THOUGHTS: i normally dont put effort into descriptions bc im lazy but idk, i decided to do it just this once shsdhjd i initially just wanted a cute little, light hearted romance between baekyeol. then it turns into something thats more on a lvl of baek's internal conflicts about growing up and opening his eyes to learning abt someone opposite of him. hes not fully aware of his feelings within himself nor for chanyeol. it makes him feel confused and at a loss of words. this is purely baekhyuns perspective as u can see, we dont know what chanyeol thinks of this whole thing. this closes in an open ending, baek still leaves chanyeol and goes back to neverland (the boys are still with him this time, to continue keeping him company). he may or may not come back, but thats rly up to u and what u think is for the best. (hook and pirates completely disregarded sowwy uwu, the lost boys (exo) stand as companionship that chanyeol doesnt have. tinkerbell is the representation of magic and all possibilities) PLS note tht im not a good fic writer at ALL !! uh i cant write fics to save my life so dont drag me too hard, i just rly like plot based edits ---- Credits of song and fandom is found in the beginning.
