Kevin DePree Music's video: Kevin DePree Electronica Instrumental First Song I Ever Wrote

On Tuesday, I'm going to re-post a video (on my YouTube channel) performing the first song I ever finished. Let me assure you, producing a song with no prior recording experience IS STUPID HARD to do. "The first song I ever finished" could have been a disaster if not for the mixing and mastering engineers I hired. Without their talents and experience it would have been terrible. Watching them work made it very clear, I need to learn how this entire process worked and be able to complete it myself. I marched right in, for years everything I recorded and mixed myself sounded like garbage! Not that I couldn't get my "musical" ideas down, I simply had ZERO experience with audio production. YOU KNOW WHAT?! I knew I was bad at and I did not care as long as I could improve. Learning and improving my abilities kept me engaged in my long term goal, learn how to produce a song. 10-30 hours a week and 5 years later has made me "competent". I wouldn't say I'm a recording, mixing, or mastering engineer but I'm able to do all three well enough to create a competitive product. Don't think I'm a know it all either because there are loads of things I would like to learn still. LEARNING NEVER ENDS! I know that, I never have a problem starting on something new and struggling with it for a while. Here are a couple long term goals of mine that help keep me motivated: -publish 1,000 works for film/TV (300 ish so far) -hit 20k subs on YouTube (help please) -create tutorials on home recording (the ones I wish I had when I was learning) I'm going to jump back into recording tutorials for June.
