This was a special-piece I did for a local fundraiser recently, that was in fact my first venture into working with EVA-foam. This stuff is amazing, light-weight & fairly easy to work with! The piece is 100% scratch-built out of EVA-foam, pvc & styrene, about 17" tall, 12" wide & only weighs a pound. This was made to hang on a wall, and features an optional LED magnetically-attached to the posterior of the badge below the star to illuminate the base & stars behind the badge. The LED can be rotated up or down to illuminate the center star above or base-stars below. Various stars on the base were also done in random specks of glow-in-the-dark acrylic-paint, so they do in fact glow for a little while after the lights are out.....and oddly enough, when the LED is pointed upwards and shines on the wall, the light just so happens to somewhat-resemble a USS Enterprise Starship....this was a purely unintentional bonus given off by the LED-feature, but kinda cool nevertheless. Black base is done in flat-black, badge was done in metallic-chrome and weathered with translucent acrylic yellow. Star Trek audio-track is the "Beam Up the Bass" remix. Thanks for watching!
