Collecting these fragments fills your gauge which grants you various bonus effects based on the type of fragments that were collected. It's one of the few Extra stages where I would constantly re-visit whenever I booted up the game. Though, a part of that reason would be due to the music which I really adored, especially the Extra Boss Theme. Somehow, I had a lot of trouble navigating through the non-spellcard attacks. I see the pattern, however I tend to screw up really hard upon facing them. At least, Koishi does makes the entire Extra stage somewhat easier to handle, though I would definitely want to tackle this again with the other characters in future runs.
