Draining the Kulaluk Wetlands PART TWO OF TWO videos following drainage channels through the 301ha Kulaluk Lease from the Darwin International Airport through Lot 5182, under Dick Ward Drive and into the vast Ludmilla Creek mangrove forest. If eucalypt forests on the lease are cleared and the ground filled for Jape's Light Industry Subdivision as planned, more storm water will be chanelled into the drains, without any thought of the evironmental effects and flooding downstream. This video shows how drains excavated in the 1980s have changed the landscape. PART TWO follows the drain deeper into the lease and reveals the financial and evironmental disaster of two failed aquaculture projects hidden in the mangroves on land granted to Aborigines in 1979 after an eight-year struggle.
