Fungus are microscopic don't need sunlight and are in warm, moist environments this is why when the Vietnam war broke out many U.S. Solders were getting fungus infections on their feet. Usually fungus lives in the toenail because it's more warm thanks to shoes and it's moist. Speaking of eliminating the fungus the Vietnam solders actually copped much better so a hint on eliminating the fungus is being curious on what they did. Back to toenail fungus. The same fungi that cause jock itch, athlete’s foot, and ringworm can cause nail infections. It's very common and very hard to eliminate. You can get it more easily around water like swimming pools and locker rooms because it moist. It starts as a white or yellow spot under the nail. As it goes deeper it can cause the nail to discolor, thicken and crumble at the edge. It can also grow to other nails very easily. Apart from the nasty look of toenail fungus it can do other bad things. The reason you have nails is to protect you from further injury and infection. In some people there can be an increased risk of cutting the skin and getting bacterial infection on top of the fungul infection especially if someone is elderly or has a weakened immune system. Bacterial infections that get in the body through infected nails could lead to foot ulcers and gangrene. Gangrene takes places when body tissue dies. Another thing it can cause is pain due to the nails becoming thick and not shaped right. The fungus can spread to the skin causing athletes foot that is itchy. It can spread to the genitals causing jock itch. So how does someone eliminate this fungul infection. 1 idea is laser surgery. It can cost as much as $1,500 for one session, which is not covered by insurance. Plus it can take multiple sessions and if it comes back that sucks bad. You can take prescription drugs. The problem is that you have to take a crap load of them they are toxic, expensive and have nasty side effects.
