Hämeensillalla Wäinö Aaltosen tekemät legendaariset Pirkkalaispatsaat puettiin Tapparan sinioranssisiin pelipaitoihin, koska joukkue pelasi Liiga-finaalissa 2023 suomenmestaruudesta Lahden Pelicansia vastaan. Ja voittohan sieltä tuli Tapparalle. Onnittelut! Hämeensillan paidoissa on Tapparan jäädytettyjen pelaajien nimet. Kauppiaan yllä on Janne Ojasen, Eränkävijällä Pekka Marjamäen, Suomen neidolla Timo Suden ja Veronkantajalla Kalevi Nummisen pelipaita. Paidat on tehty Sirpa Rytkösen ompelimossa. Kimmo Kaivanto suunnitteli Tapparan ikonisen logon 1950-luvulla. Tappara voitti 27.4.2023 jääkiekon Suomen mestaruuden kaatamalla Lahden Pelicansin äärimmäisen tiukassa viidennessä finaaliottelussa. Tappara ja Ilves pelasivat molemmat SM-liigan playoffeissa 2023. Tappara puolusti onnistuneesti viime vuoden 2022 mestaruuttaan. The local ice hockey team Tappara’s game jerseys were dressed on the statues of the Hämeensilta bridge in Tampere, South Finland. Tappara played in the final games for the Finnish championship 2023 against the team Lahti Pelicans. Tappara won the championship. Congratulations! ”Tappara” is Finnish for ”battle axe”. The colors of the Tappara team are blue, orange and white. The legendary Finnish visual artist and sculptor Kimmo Kaivanto designed Tappara’s iconic axe logo in the 1960s. The Hämeensilta (″Häme Bridge″) bridge is crossing the Tammerkoski rapids. The main street of Tampere, Hämeenkatu, runs along the bridge. Hämeensilta is one of the Tampere city's best known landmarks, especially famous for the monumental bronze statues on the rails of the bridge. On the bridge you can find the Finnish sculptor Wäinö Aaltonen’s Pirkkala statues (Pirkkalaispatsaat) the Finnish Maiden, the Tax Collector, the Tradesman and the Hunter (Suomen neito, Veronkantaja, Kauppias ja Eränkävijä). Hämeensilta is named after the Finnish name of the Tavastia (Häme) province. The arches of the Hämeensilta bridge are made of concrete and they are coated with a red granite. The 68-meter-long (223 ft) Hämeensilta was completed in 1929. The Hömeensilta bridge was renovated and rebuilt 2018-2020. The new bridge imitates the appearance of the original stone bridge. Tammerkoski is a channel of rapids in Tampere, South Finland. The city of Tampere is located between two lakes, Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärvi. The water flows from Näsijärvi to Pyhäjärvi through the Tammerkoski rapids. There was a busy marketplace in the 17th century. Tampere was founded on the banks of the rapids, as the rushing water provided a great deal of power for the needs of industry. Tampere became the first industrial city in Finland. The development of large-scale industrial life began in the 1850s. Tampere was a leading textile center of Finland and Northern Europe. In addition to the textile industry, the most prominent industrial fields were the metal, iron, and wood processing industries, followed later by the shoe and leather industries. The banks of Tammerkoski are among the oldest industrial areas in Finland. It includes Finlayson's and Tampella's factories, among others. Today, only the Tako cardboard factory (Takon kartonkitehdas, Metsä Board Tako) operates along the rapids, but many of the old factory buildings still remain. Tammerkoski, with the old red-brick industrial buildings around the banks, is one of Finland's national landscapes. Tampere is a city, where the biggest Finnish ice hockey derby, Tappara vs. Ilves (Finnish for ”Lynx”), is played. Tampere is also the cradle of the Finnish ice hockey. The local rivals Tappara and Ilves both played in the Finnish Liiga 2023 playoffs. In the final games Tappara won the Finnish championship and Ilves became third. The legendary Koulukatu Ice Rink is the cradle of the Finnish ice hockey. In 1956, Finland's first artificial ice rink was built on Koulukatu street in the Kaakinmaa district of Tampere. Artificial ice has been said to have played a crucial role in the professionalization of ice hockey in Finland.
