The Sintang city is situated on the border of Indonesia-Malaysia. The city is accessible by air and land from Pontianak, the capital of West Kalimantan Province. It takes about 9 hours drive from Pontianak to Sintang or 45 minutes by air. Sintang derives from Dayak langauage , ‘senentang’ means the meeting point of two rivers, Kapuas and Melawi River.
