Steam train trips are always amazing. It's like being in a time capsule of the past as you watch the modern world pass by. In 2016 We had a big day out going to the Thirlmere Festival Of Steam. It was a totally awesome day of Steam train travel and rail heritage. My son brought with him his favourite Thomas The Tank (Wooden Railway Thomas) for the epic train trip. We booked a first class cab and were to be taken to the festival by locomotive 6029 City Of Canberra ‘The Garratt’ but it had broken down. Another locomotive 3642 'The Pig' ended up being out big steam engine and was double headed near Thirlmere by Locomotive 3016. It was a really hot day, the Festival Of Steam attracts huge crowds and the NSW Rail Museum was very busy. It's just amazing how many locomotives, trains and rolling stock are at this museum to look over. The turntable workshops are also interesting to walk around. Sadly around one quarter of this video was lost when I had a iMac fusion drive failure. So many of the spoken to camera pieces don't really work now. So here is the day out with trains with lots of raw train sounds and very little talking. A trip to the NSW Railway Museum is something I highly recommend. All the volunteers I spoke to on the train trip to the museum and at the museum were awesome. It's a day my family will remember for a very long time.
