letzterinstanz's video: LOOK Part 2 HATTONS CLASS 66 EWS SOUND

@LOOK! Part 2 HATTONS CLASS 66 EWS SOUND
LOOK! part 2 of the Hattons class 66. Showing close up and detailed shots. Here we have the 'new kid on the block' from Hattons Originals - the class 66 diesel electric locomotive. In terms of detail and appearance it eclipses the current class 66 offerings from Bachmann. The mechanism runs superbly too. However, there are some disappointments. These are listed here with the most disappointing aspect first. A Zimo decoder will not work the cab lights. This could be because the locomotive circuit board is expecting 'logic - level' outputs from the decoder for these. The change from 'daylight' lights to 'nightime' lights cannot be achieved via the decoder; there is a switch (one for each end of the locomotive) to do this, but to access the switch, the locomotive body needs to be removed. Some of the lighting relies on light guides to place the light from the respective LED at the appropriate light lens on the body. This results in the marker lights being brighter than the headlights! Removing the locomotive body is a delicate operation and one which should not be carried out too often. The body has been off twice so far and already there is white paint missing from the handrails which need to be flexed to do so. Nothing in the instructions to let the user know where the cab lights are connected to; you need to buy there sound fitted version to determine this (the information is in their sound decoder instructions). The space for the speaker is obstructed by wiring which has insufficient slack to allow it to be moved to one side in order to install the speaker. As a result, it is necessary to temporarily remove the secondary circuit board at that end of the locomotive. The main PCB is not secured in place; there are four holes for screws in each corner but no corresponding holes in the chassis.
